Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum shared on Wednesday that the country will not yet respond to the United States' 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum and will wait until April 2 to decide what to do with its tariff policy.
Starting now up to April 2, government officials will be holding discussions on the issue, she mentioned at a press conference. "We hope that, given that we have a trade agreement and no tariffs from Mexico to the US, there will be no reciprocal tariffs," she remarked.
"The dialogue is open," Sheinbaum asserted.
