Meta expands AI chatbot to 21 new markets including UK

Meta Platforms announced on Wednesday that its artificial intelligence chatbot, Meta AI, will now be available in 21 additional markets, including the UK and Brazil.

The expansion is part of Meta's strategy to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT by broadening access to its chatbot and introducing support for languages like Arabic and Indonesian.

Meta AI, which has 500 million monthly active users, will be available in 43 countries and 12 languages by the end of 2024. However, CEO Mark Zuckerberg promised earlier that new character voices would be introduced later.
