Eurozone producer prices up by 0.4% in October
The Producer Price Index (PPI) rose by 0.4% in October compared to September both in the Eurozone and the European Union, according to a new report by Eurostat published on Wednesday. Compared to October 2023, the PPI dropped 3.2% in the euro area and 3% in the EU.
On a monthly basis, the Eurozone's energy prices jumped 1.4% in the reported month, while durable consumer goods prices climbed by 0.3%, and non-durable consumer goods prices were up by 0.2%. Meanwhile, capital goods prices remained stable.
Year-over-year, the euro area's energy prices plummeted by 11.2% in November, and intermediate goods prices declined by 0.5%. On the other hand, producer prices for non-durable consumer goods, capital goods and durable consumer goods grew by 1.8%, 1.3% and 0.7%, respectively.
