The latest bitcoin price jump comes after it was revealed that United States President-elect Donald Trump won in Arizona, clinching his victory on a national level with a total of 312 electoral votes.

Bitcoin surged 2.99% to $79,014 at 3:06 am ET. A minute later, Ethereum jumped 1.92%, selling for $3,188.
