Nasdaq falls more than 2% to six-month low
Wall Street stock indexes expanded their losses on Thursday, with Nasdaq slipping by more than 2% to reach its lowest level since September 2024. The losses were led by Adobe Inc., which released its earnings report for the first quarter of fiscal 2025 yesterday. Although the revenue rose by 10% on an annual basis, the company's outlook caused concern among investors and led to Adobe's shares stumbling by 14.03% at 1:19 pm ET to sell for $377.06 apiece.
Nasdaq fell by 2.2% or 433 points at 1:19 pm ET, while Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by 1.42% at 1:30 pm ET, and S&P 500 declined by 1.51% at 1:31 pm ET. Meanwhile, the euro lost 0.20% against the dollar at 1:31 pm ET and sold for $1.08656.
