Trump allegedly to pause order forbidding bribery abroad
United States President Donald Trump will sign an order to suspend the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), which forbids bribery of foreign officials for business purposes, CNBC reported on Monday.
"A pause in enforcement to better understand how to streamline the FCPA to make sure it's in line with economic interests and national security," a White House official told CNBC.
As of now, those who violate the FCPA can receive a sentence of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $250,000, or three times the amount a foreign official asked.
