French President Emmanuel Macron remarked on Monday that he wants artificial intelligence (AI) to be "at the service of humanity."

Speaking at an AI summit in France, the president stressed that he sees AI as a "formidable technological and scientific development for progress" that should be used to make the lives of people better.

"This summit shows that AI is a way for humanity to move faster, to innovate faster and to transform health, energy, mobility, [and] public services," Macron shared.
