Japanese authorities have raided Amazon.com, Inc.'s subsidiary's headquarters in Tokyo, suspecting the company of violating antitrust laws, NHK and Nikkei Asia reported.

The raid, conducted by law enforcement and overseen by the Fair Trade Commission, centered on allegations of anti-competitive practices by the Japanese arm of the US e-commerce giant.

According to the reports, Amazon Japan G.K. is being accused of pressuring retailers to lower prices on its platform compared to other online marketplaces. The company is also suspected of compelling sellers to use its logistics services by offering better product placement in exchange.
