SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral's Space Launch Complex 40, sending the Bandwagon-3 rideshare mission into orbit.
These rideshare launches let private groups send small satellites into orbit without booking a full rocket. The Bandwagon-3 mission carried payloads for multiple clients, including ADD's 425Sat-3, Tomorrow-S7 by Tomorrow Companies Inc. and the PHOENIX re-entry capsule from Atmos Space Cargo.
The rocket's first-stage booster returned safely to Landing Zone 2, causing a sonic boom.
