US business inventories rise 0.1% in September
Inventories in the manufacturing and trade sectors in the United States climbed by 0.1% in September compared to last month's reading, standing at $2.58 trillion, the US Census Bureau revealed on Friday.
The figure rose by 2.2% on an annual basis. In the reported month, the combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers' shipments saw a monthly growth of 0.3% to $1.8 trillion and a yearly increase of 0.5%.
The ratio between business inventories and sales at the end of September was 1.38, compared to 1.35 registered in the same month a year earlier.
