A Hamas official told Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Saturday that the organization's delegation has left for Cairo to participate in the talks about resuming the ceasefire and prisoner exchange with Israel.

"We hope the meeting will achieve real progress toward reaching an agreement to end the war, halt the aggression, and ensure the full withdrawal of occupation forces from Gaza," the official told AFP.

The report came a day after Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty proposed introducing a temporary committee to be given the governance of Gaza for six months until the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) is ready to take over. Meanwhile, Israel allegedly tabled its idea of a deal.
