GOP nominee Donald Trump won the states of Texas, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming, projections from CNN and Fox News showed. The former US president was expected to win all four of the aforementioned states.

Texas carries 40 electoral votes, while the other three states are worth three electors each.

Trump also secured wins in Louisiana, as well as four out of Nebraska's five electoral votes.
