The Fund aims to achieve a total return on your investment, through a combination of capital growth and income, which reflects the return of the FTSE Euro Government Bond Index, the Fund"s benchmark index. The Fund invests predominantly in the fixed income (FI) securities (such as bonds) that make up the Fund's benchmark index (which comprises government bonds). In those jurisdictions where the Fund may be liable to withholding taxes on investment in government issued FI securities, the Fund may invest in high quality financial institutions. At the time of purchase, the FI securities will have received a long term credit rating which complies with the credit rating requirements of the FTSE Euro Government Bond Index, being currently at least investment grade from Moody"s, Standard & Poor"s or Fitch Ratings or are deemed, by the investment manager, to be of an equivalent rating. If the credit rating of a FI security is downgraded, the Fund may continue to hold this, until it is practicable to sell the position. The benchmark index measures the performance of investment grade euro denominated FI securities issued by governments in EMU member states (including any new member states which are included in the benchmark index).
