Stock markets in New York City opened Tuesday's shortened trading session higher ahead of the Christmas holiday.
Meanwhile, shares of American Airlines declined during premarket trade after the carrier grounded all flights amid system issues.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat at the opening bell. The Nasdaq 100 gained 0.28% as MicroStrategy Inc. climbed 4.13%. The S&P 500 rose 0.15% with Broadcom Inc. jumping 3.12%.
The euro stood flat against the dollar, changing hands for 1.04004.
