Trump taps his defense lawyer Blanche for deputy AG
United States President-elect Donald Trump has selected attorneys Todd Blanche and Emil Bove, who represented him in the New York hush-money case, for the number two and number three spots in the Department of Justice.
Blanche, who was the lead attorney in the hush money case, has been nominated to serve as deputy attorney general. "Todd is an excellent attorney who will be a crucial leader in the Justice Department, fixing what has been a broken System of Justice for far too long," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Meanwhile, Bove, who also represented Trump in the hush money trial and his two federal criminal cases, will be the principal associate deputy attorney general and will serve as acting deputy attorney general until Blanche is confirmed, Trump said. "Emil is a tough and strong attorney, who will be a crucial part of the Justice Department, rooting out corruption and crime," Trump said of Bove.
