The United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced on Monday in a statement that it has filed a lawsuit against Uber Technologies Inc. over the company's alleged "deceptive billing and cancellation practices."

The FTC claimed that the firm "charged consumers for its Uber One subscription service without their consent, failed to deliver promised savings, and made it difficult for users to cancel the service despite its 'cancel anytime' promises."

FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson said that the US citizens are tired of getting signed up for "unwanted" subscriptions that seem "impossible" to cancel.
