Asia mixed, Chinese indexes drop sharply

Major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Wednesday after Wall Street closed higher on Tuesday, fueled by a tech rally. Chinese indexes underperformed, erasing yesterday's gains, following the lack of any new details on Beijing's stimulus measures.

South Korea's markets are closed for a public holiday.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.17% at 4:09 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng decreased by 0.82% at 4:11 am CET, while, on the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite and the Shenzhen Composite dropped by 3.64% and 4.28%, respectively and Japan's Nikkei 225 was up by 0.58% at 4:17 am CET.

The dollar traded flat against the yen, going for ¥148.1240 at 4:18 am CET.
