Verstappen wins 2021 F1 Monaco Grand Prix
Red Bull Racing Honda's Max Verstappen won the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2021 at the Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo on Sunday.
Carlos Sainz Jr. from Ferrari finished second, while McLaren-Mercedes's Lando Norris rounded up the top three. Pole sitter Charles Leclerc did not start the race and his pole position was left vacant on the grid "due to an issue with the left driveshaft" that was "impossible to fix in time for the start of the race," according to his team, Ferrari.
Verstappen also took the lead in the drivers' standings with 105 points, followed by titleholder Lewis Hamilton with 101 and Norris with 56. At the same time, Red Bull grabbed first place in the constructors' championship for the first time since 2013.
