Federal authorities in the United States arrested an American citizen accused of spying for China in Boston, Fox Business reported on Thursday citing a court indictment.

"Litang Liang knowingly acted and caused others to act in the United States as an agent of a foreign government, namely, the People's Republic of China, without providing prior notification to the United States Attorney General, as required by law," the indictment said.

According to the report, Liang is accused of supporting the Chinese Communist Party's alleged efforts to suppress political dissenters and organizing a counter-protest to US pro-democracy dissidents.
