United States President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News broadcast on Tuesday that t his administration may ask countries to "choose between" China and the US in trade talks.

Trump claimed he paused the "reciprocal" tariffs on most countries for 90 days "due to a transitional phase and the need to maintain flexibility in the negotiation process."

The US president also claimed that "there is a chance" the money earned from tariffs "could be so great that it would replace" income tax.
