The second round of nuclear talks between the United States and Iran kicked off in the Omani ambassador's residence in Rome, Iranian media reported on Saturday.

The negotiations were scheduled to start at 11:00 am local time, but were delayed because the US delegation, led by Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, did not arrive on time.

Earlier in the week, Iran International reported that Tehran presented a three-stage proposal that includes a gradual reduction of uranium enrichment in exchange for lifting US sanctions during the first round of talks last Saturday.
