South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin discussed the Israel-Hamas conflict via phone with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry.

During the telephone conversation, the diplomats agreed that the war should not escalate further and that a humanitarian pause was needed to prevent the crisis from worsening. Furthermore, Park acknowledged Egypt's mediation efforts and its facilitation of relief shipments into the Gaza Strip via its border.

Park recently discussed the escalation of the Middle East conflict with the foreign ministers of Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Jordan and condemned the attacks conducted by Hamas.
