OpenAI projected to investors that revenue from agents and new offerings would surpass ChatGPT's earnings, with total revenue reaching $125 billion by 2029 and climbing to $174 billion in 2030, according to documents seen by The Information.

OpenAI expects to burn $46 billion in cash over the next four years due to model training costs and expenses, but projects becoming cash flow positive by 2029 with $12 billion in cash. The company forecasts its main revenue streams - ChatGPT subscriptions and API access - will grow significantly, with ChatGPT revenue rising from $8 billion to $50 billion and API revenue increasing from $2 billion to $22 billion by 2029. Agent-based revenue is projected to reach $29 billion in 2029, up from $3 billion this year.

Further, the company projects reaching 3 billion monthly, 2 billion weekly, and 900 million daily active users by 2030. Free users and other products won't contribute significantly to OpenAI's revenue until next year. By 2029, these sources are expected to generate $25 billion, representing 20% of total earnings.
