Europe down in premarket with trade policy in limelight

Major European stock exchanges traded with losses in the premarket on Friday as the United States' trading partners weighed how to approach the issue of reciprocal tariffs. Meanwhile, in data, investors are looking at Swiss unemployment numbers, German retail sales, and the United Kingdom's construction figures.

The DAX shed 0.45% at 8:00 am CET. At the same time, the Euro Stoxx 50 fell 0.30%, the CAC 40 declined 0.22%, and the FTSE 100 was down 0.17%

At 7:59 am CET, the euro traded 0.27% above the dollar, going for 1.10843. Simultaneously, the pound stood flat, selling at 1.30983.
