Major stock market indexes in the United States extended their gains during Tuesday's session after Uber Technologies Inc. and Caterpillar Inc. posted buoyant earnings results, seemingly inspiring traders to invest more in companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Nvidia Corporation, Fox Corporation etc.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared by 0.87% or 378 points at 10:16 am ET, having jumped by 400 points moments earlier. At that minute, the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.92% or 163 points. The S&P 500 grew by 1.15%.

The euro fell by 0.24% at 10:19 am ET to sell for $1.09253.
