Abbas arrives in Russia on official visit
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas (pictured) has arrived in Russia for an official meeting, Russian local media reported on Monday.
As per a previous communication from Abdel Hafiz Nofal, the Palestinian ambassador to Russia, Abbas is scheduled to engage in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza on Tuesday.
In December, Abbas and Putin held a phone call and urged for a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Since the beginning of the war in Gaza, Russia has defended the right of Palestinians to establish their own state and called for a two-state solution.
