M6 Métropole Télévision S.A., established in 1987, is a multimedia group offering a wide selection of programmes, products and services which are available across the most diverse range of media: television, internet and mobile phone, etc. The main activities are structured into: Stations - 10 digital channels like M6, W9 and 6ter and Paris Première, Téva and The Broadcasting Rights - composed of several companies in charge of acquistion, management and distribution of film rights with a view to broadcasting them to a wider audience: production, theatrical exploitation, video sale. The main shareholder is the RTL Group. On 13 December 2016 the Supervisory Board of M6 Group voted unanimously in favour of the proposed acquisition of the French radio division of RTL Group (RTL, RTL2 and Fun Radio). This proposed agreement provides for the acquisition of all the shares in RTL Group’s radio division in France, which includes the stations RTL, RTL2 and Fun Radio, as well as their sales house (IP France et Régions) and their online activities.
