Mercedes-Benz: 2022 revenue up 12% to €150B

Mercedes-Benz Group AG reported on Friday that its revenue was €150 billion in the full fiscal 2022, 12% higher than in the year prior. Earnings per share for the whole year rose by 35% to €13.55. In 2022, Mercedes-Benz Cars sales grew 5% and Mercedes-Benz Vans sales were up 8% from 2021.

In the fourth fiscal quarter of 2022, earnings per share soared 66% from the same period a year ago and reached €3.72. Revenue came in at €41 billion, up 16% from the closing trimester in 2021. Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans sales increased by 7% and 10%, respectively.

The carmaker also confirmed a two-year €4 billion stock repurchase program. "In a market environment that remains challenging, the Group expects [2023] EBIT [earnings before interest and taxes] to be slightly below the previous year's level based on the development of the segments," the company revealed.
