MediaTek partners with Nvidia on new AI car technology
Taiwan's MediaTek said Monday that it is partnering with Nvidia to produce a full range of new AI solutions for the benefit of the automotive industry and MediaTek's in-vehicle ecosystem.
The new agreement will allow MediaTek to develop automotive SoCs that integrate a new NVIDIA GPU chip with NVIDIA AI and graphics IP. Additionally, MediaTek will run NVIDIA's DRIVE OS, DRIVE IX, CUDA, and TensorRT software technologies, providing a full range of functions with next-generation AI, graphics, safety, and security features.
"AI and accelerated computing are fueling the transformation of the entire auto industry," said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. "The combination of MediaTek's industry-leading SoC and NVIDIA's GPU and AI software technologies will enable new user experiences, enhanced safety, and new connected services for all vehicle segments, from luxury to mainstream."
