United States Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick could lose his position over the chaos caused by the Trump administration's economic policy, Politico reported on Tuesday. Lutnick has been a strong proponent of tariffs and has advised President Donald Trump on the matter.

However, according to a previous Politico report, Trump's allies and administration officials are "growing increasingly frustrated" with Lutnick, accusing him of misunderstanding how tariffs work and occasionally "contradicting" Trump's messaging. A career businessman, Lutnick has no experience holding public office and was not involved in Trump's first administration.
