A police officer was shot dead at the Croydon Police Station in south London, BBC reported on Friday. The officer was killed by a 23-year-old man who was held in custody center in Windmill Lane.

Even though the paramedics treated the officer following the incident, he succumbed to the wounds in the hospital. The incident took place during the night.
