Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov claimed on Monday that European leaders are not looking for ways to reach a peace settlement in Ukraine but are instead "inclined to further provoke the continuation of the war."

Peskov commented on the incoming German government's aid for Ukraine, including the possibility of long-range Taurus missiles, stating that prospective Chancellor Friedrich Merz supports action that will "inevitably lead only to a further escalation of the situation."
