Italian producer prices up by 6.2% in February

Producer Price Index (PPI) in Italy jumped by 6.2% in February 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, the country's National Institute of Statistics (Istat) revealed in a report on Friday. On a monthly basis, the figure rose by 0.7%.

The major contributor to the year-on-year rise was the chemical products sector, which grew 7.5% in the euro area, while wood, paper, and printing industries rose by 5.6% in the Eurozone.

In the December 2024-February 2025 quarter, producer prices surged by 2.9% compared to the previous three-month period.
