IRGC Navy seizes oil vessel with 100K liters in Persian Gulf
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy seized a vessel carrying 100,000 liters of smuggled fuel in the Persian Gulf waters between Lark and Qeshm islands, according to the Chief Justice of Hormozgan, Mojtaba Ghahremani on Tuesday. Ghahremani, who oversees judicial matters in the southern province of Hormozgan, reported the operation, which led to the arrest of six individuals.
The confiscated fuel has been handed over to the petroleum products distribution company to re-enter the legal market. This was reported by IRNA, quoting official sources.
Ghahremani emphasized that organized fuel smugglers face severe penalties, including the confiscation of property, fines, and imprisonment. The nationality of the tanker and the detained individuals remains unknown.
