Europe set to open higher ahead of ECB decision

Equities in Europe are expected to open with gains on Thursday, reflecting a similar sentiment from the United States as Wall Street closed at record levels with the Dow Jones climbing 306 points to a new all-time high. Meanwhile, investors continue to anticipate the European Central Bank (ECB) interest rate decision due later today.

The DAX indicated to open 0.42% higher, the FTSE was seen 1.81% in the green, the CAC was set to rise by 1.36% and the Euro Stoxx 50 was expected to increase 0.54%.

The euro traded 0.02% lower against the U.S. dollar at 1.0760 at 8:09 a.m. CET while it also decreased against the sterling by 0.16% at 0.8511 at 8:10 a.m. CET.
