Investment goal
The ESPA BOND EMERGING-MARKETS fund acquires primarily government bonds from emerging markets in Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa. In addition, the fund may add investments in corporate bonds of issuers from these regions. A majority of these bonds have credit ratings of "BBB" to "B". The fund invests primarily in hard-currency bonds in US dollars and euros. While the euro/US dollar currency risk is permanently hedged, up to 10% of the fund's assets in emerging markets may be invested in local currency markets.
