BYD Co. Ltd.'s BYD Auto Co., Ltd. is considering opening an electric vehicle (EV) battery production plant in Spain, Expansion reported on Monday.

The report came shortly after BYD decided to enter the Spanish market and opened two stores in that country, one in Madrid and one in Barcelona.

Earlier this year, it was also reported Ford Motor Corporation is negotiating to sell one of its production facilities in Germany to BYD.
