Europe mostly lower premarket ahead of BoE's decision

Major European stock indexes traded mostly lower during premarket hours on Monday ahead of this week's monetary policy decision by the Bank of England (BoE), which is expected to be announced on Thursday. The bank will release its quarterly bulletin for the first quarter of 2025 later today, giving more insight into the market developments in the United Kingdom. Investors also anticipated Italy's report on consumer inflation, set to be published today, and the German Bundestag's vote on the country's debt brake rule, scheduled for Tuesday.

The DAX declined by 0.11% at 8:00 am CET, while the FTSE 100 increased by 0.16%. At the same time, the CAC 40 dropped by 0.16%, and the Euro Stoxx 50 slipped by 0.11%.

The euro and the pound traded flat against the dollar at 7:59 am CET, selling for $1.08764 and $1.29292, respectively.
