Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday that as it is wintertime, the country's energy sector remains on Russia's target list.

"Among the targets are gas infrastructure and energy facilities that ensure normal life for people," he wrote on Telegram. The head of Ukraine detailed that some 40 missiles were launched by Moscow in the latest strike, with around 30 downed by Kiev's defense systems.

Zelensky once again pointed out that Ukraine's air shield capabilities need to be boosted further. Due to the most recent attacks, the country imposed new power cuts.
