Walz calls for unity in Minnesota
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz pledged to push back against President-elect Donald Trump's policies during a speech in Eagan, Minnesota. Walz, who ran alongside Kamala Harris on the Democratic ticket, said he's committed to "defending" the state's values.
While Walz was critical of Trump, he acknowledged the need to engage with Trump supporters in Minnesota, where about 1.5 million residents voted for the other side. He expressed a desire for unity, encouraging Minnesotans to bridge divides and find common ground.
"Maybe when we get a little break from this campaign that we're in, we'll be able to look at each other and see not enemies but neighbors and maybe we'll be able to sit down over coffee or a Diet Mountain Dew and just talk, " Walz said.
