US personal spending up by 0.5% in September

Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) in the United States in September rose by $105.8 billion or 0.5% on a monthly basis, the country's Bureau of Economic Analysis revealed in its report published on Thursday.
The PCE price index in the reported month grew 0.2% compared to August while advancing 2.1% year over year. Excluding food and energy, the index was 0.3% higher in September from the month prior and up 2.7% from a year ago.
In the reported month, personal income increased by $71.6 billion or 0.3%, and disposable personal income (DPI) gained 0.3% or $57.4 billion. Meanwhile, Real PCE rose 0.4%, while Real DPI saw a growth of 0.1% month on month.
