US markets close higher amid earnings, data
Major US stock markets closed higher on Tuesday amid the release of more earning reports and economic data.
Previously, it was learned that consumer confidence in the United States grew more than expected in November, with the Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index climbing to 111.7. Meanwhile, the US housing market showed weakness, as sales of new single-family homes dropped by 17.3% in October.
Dow Jones gained 0.28% at 4:00 pm ET, while Amazon grew 3.19%. The Nasdaq 100 added 0.57%, and Constellation Energy was leading the gains, improving by 7.15%. The S&P 500 rose 0.57%, as NRG advanced by 10.19%.
The euro was down by 0.11% against the dollar at 3:58 pm ET, selling for $1.04804.
