Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Wednesday that he expects the situation in the Middle East to stabilize in the coming days.

Araghchi stressed that yesterday's attack Tehran conducted against Israel represented the country exercising its right to "self-defense." He added that his country asked Sweden to convey a message to the United States that Iran has "no intention of continuing" the attacks and urged Washington to "step aside and not interfere."

Earlier, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated the attack was a response to Israel's killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, while Israeli officials threatened to respond to Tehran's missile strikes with a "significant retaliation" that could include attacks on oil facilities.
