South Korea's acting President Han Duck-soo announced that high-level trade talks between his country and the United States will be held in Washington DC on April 24, adding he expected the negotiations "won't be easy."

"Our government will direct all of our strength to finding a win-win solution for the two countries by holding calm and serious discussions with the U.S. under the principle of putting top priority on our national interest," Han said according to Yonhap.

The talks will be conducted in 2+2 format, with the US side being represented by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, while Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok and Trade Minister Ahn Duk-geun will negotiate for South Korea.
