United Kingdom's retail sales volumes rose by 0.5% in November, year over year, the Office for National Statistics revealed in a report published on Friday. The reading came in below analyst expectations.

Month on month, the figure was up 0.2%, with non-food store sales volumes increasing 0.2% and food store sales volumes growing by 0.5% in November. Meanwhile, online sales volumes dropped 4.3%.

In the three months to November, retail sales volumes added 0.3% compared to the previous quarter and gained 1.9% on an annual basis.
