United States President Donald Trump said that his administration was "bringing Columbus Day back from the ashes."

In a post on Truth Social, Trump criticized the Democrats for doing "everything possible to destroy Christopher Columbus, his reputation, and all of the Italians who love him so much." He claimed that they "tore down his statues and put up nothing but 'woke' or, even worse, nothing at all!"

The president said that Columbus "is going to make a major comeback" as he was "reinstating Columbus Day under the same rules, dates and locations as it has had for all the many decades before!"
