Fire head: Palisades Fire 'one of most destructive' in LA history

Los Angeles City Fire chief Kristin Crowley stated on Thursday at a press conference that the Palisades Fire is "one of the most destructive natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles."
Firefighters in the area are struggling due to "extreme fire behavior," she mentioned adding that throughout the day, wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour are likely. Crowley further mentioned that thousands of homes and other structures in Pacific Palisades have been consumed by fire.
According to data from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, as much as 17,234 acres of land have been burned in the Palisades Fire so far, with zero percent of containment.
