Syrian de facto leader Ahmed al-Sharaa on Monday engaged in high-level talks with a Ukrainian delegation which included Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

According to the Syrian state news agency (SANA), the talks were held in Damascus and revolved around future grain shipments from Ukraine. The move comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed his government to establish contact with the Al-Sharaa's newly established regime and announced that Kiev already sent food aid to Syria last week.

Meanwhile, the Syrian ruler yesterday revealed that could take up to three years to draft a new constitution and four years to organize an election.
