Automaker Stellantis NV announced on Wednesday that it is accelerating the launch of the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, a range-extended pickup truck, ahead of its original electric vehicle launch plans. In a statement, the company said it moved up the timing in response to "overwhelming consumer interest."

The Ramcharger will open for orders in 2025, with the Ram 1500 REV electric model following in 2026. Equipped with a 92 kWh battery, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger is expected to offer a range of up to 690 miles. It also features bi-directional charging, allowing power to be shared with other vehicles or the grid.

The move to prioritize the Ram 1500 Ramcharger further delays the launch of the Ram 1500 REV, which was previously pushed from the fourth quarter of 2024 to the first half of 2025. Now, Stellantis has confirmed that the REV will launch in 2026.
