British Prime Minister Keir Starmer told Fox News' Bret Baier that the United Kingdom has "had freedom of speech for a very, very long time," adding that they "guard it preciously."

When asked about comments made by United States Vice President JD Vance, who expressed concerns over the UK's Online Safety Act, which he said infringes on the free speech of American tech companies and "by extension American citizens," Starmer responded by saying that the country doesn't "believe in censoring free speech," but that it needs "to deal with terrorism," as well as "pedophiles and issues like that."

Starmer said he "spoke to the vice president about it today" and had a "good exchange" with Vance, whom he called "right to champion free speech." He added that the UK was very mindful that the measures it has taken do not impact US citizens.
